Turnabout Night at the Zoo
Author(s):
Carolyn Lane
"TURNABOUT NIGHT AT THE ZOO," the lion explains to his startled visitors, Jimmy and Polly (who have been accidentally locked in at the Zoo after dark), "is simply a matter of fair play. All year long we, the animals, entertain the people who come to see us. But once a year -- tonight, it just so happens -- it's their turn to perform for us. Perfectly fair, wouldn't you say?" Jimmy and Polly watch in astonishment as the animals step casually out of their cages. They are further amazed when various town dignitaries happen in and are immediately placed behind bars.
